Privacy
Welcome to TJXJobs.com ("the Site").
Information We Collect and How It Is Used
The TJX Companies, Inc. ("TJX") wants to make your experience online
productive as well as safe. Our data collection policies allow you to choose
what kind of information to provide to us online and to control how we use whatever
information you tell us.
It is important to note that the Site is designed only to provide information to you
concerning available jobs, job benefits and the job application form. It is not
designed to accept your application on-line. You must still do this in person. Even so,
you have the choice of completing the job application form either on-line or off-line.
If you print the job application from the Site, but actually complete it off-line,
none of your personal information can or will be collected from the Site. If you choose
to complete the job application on-line, any data fields which you enter will become a
part of our overall database of information once you press the "Continue"
button at the bottom of the page. It is not necessary, however, to complete all of the
data fields in order to "Continue."
Policies for Children (Individuals Under 13 Years of Age)
Like you, we at TJX have children of our own and are concerned about their safety when
they use the Internet. Consistent with this concern, we will never knowingly collect
personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13.
Opting Out
If you provide personal information to us via the Site and later decide that you would
like this information to be deleted from our database, please contact us as provided below.
How We Use & Disclose Your Information
We do not sell your personally identifiable information to third parties. So, for example,
we do not sell your email address or your name and personal demographic information to
mass marketers. We do use information about usage of the Site to better understand how the
Site is being used and to make it as effective for you as possible, but this information is
never sold to third parties.
In some cases, we may use this information to communicate with employment opportunities to
you via newsletter; or, we may share this information with other subsidiary companies of TJX.
Use of Cookies
As is true of many other web sites, the Site may use from time to time a web browser feature
known as a ‘cookie.’ Cookies are very small text files written by an Internet server to a
web site user’s browser when information is exchanged between them. Cookies only contain
information that the server computer "knew" in the first place and can only be read
by the serving domain that placed them.
Cookies are an essential part of how the Internet works today and allow server computers to
recognize your computer’s browser when you return. If you have ever gone to a web site that
automatically provides personalized content to you without you having to log in, such as
your own stock portfolio, this is almost certainly being accomplished with a cookie. As
cookies are only text files, they cannot run on your computer and have no ability to search
your computer for other information or transmit it to anyone. Most cookies are termed
‘session cookies.’ This means that they expire when you leave the web site. Most browsers
are initially set up to accept cookies and can be reset to refuse all cookies or indicate
when a cookie is being sent. Should you choose to disable any cookies associated with the
Site, you will not be able to take full advantage of all the Site's features, but you should
be able to navigate the Site without difficulty.
Links to Other Sites
We like to remind visitors to the Site that, occasionally, we may provide additional
Internet links to resources we find useful. These links will lead users to other web
sites that are not within our control and that are subject to unique privacy practices.
For example, these other web sites may send their own cookies to users or collect data
or solicit personal information in ways and for purposes completely distinct from those
described here. We want to caution and advise our visitors, therefore, to be sure to
access and review the respective privacy policies of these other linked web sites.
For further information, please visit the Legal page of this Site.
Security
We employ stringent security measures such as SSL (Secure Socket Layers) encryption and
firewalls to protect our data from unauthorized use. Firewalls are implemented to protect
a server or network from would-be hackers and other unauthorized users from accessing and
tampering with files and other information stored on a server. We exercise great care to
provide secure transmission of your information. Unfortunately, no transmission of
information over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure and we cannot ensure
or warrant the security of any such information you transmit to us. Accordingly, you make
all such transmissions at your sole risk. Once we receive your transmission, we make our
best effort to ensure its security on our systems.
Your Consent
By using the Site, you are consenting to the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Site. Further, your
continued use of the Site following the posting of changes to these terms will signify
your acceptance of those changes.
